The Washington Memorial Library was built in memory of Hugh Vernon Washington by his sister in 1923. It houses a fine genealogical and archives collection, a reading room and a lending library. It is the headquarters for The Middle Georgia Regional Library System which serves Bibb, Crawford, Jones, Macon, Twiggs, and Wilkinson Counties.
