Golden Bough Bookstore is an independently owned bookstore located in historic downtown Macon, Georgia. We carry a broad general stock of used books on a variety of subjects with emphasis on local and regional history and authors. Opened in 1989 by Lilly Ambrose, Golden Bough was purchased in Feb 2007 by long time employee Eric Wakefield.
Golden Bough offers a book search for out-of-print books, and orders new books for our customers. Virtually any book you can purchase at the corporate stores, as well as many that you cannot, you can choose to purchase through us. We welcome your business. Golden Bough is a member of the Georgia Antiquarian Booksellers Association.
We are open from 12:00 to 7:00 Tuesday through Saturday. We have thousands of interesting books to browse. Golden Bough Bookstore is located on Cotton Avenue in the heart of beautiful downtown Macon.
