Tarleton Oaks and the Gone With The Wind Hall of Stars Museum is a themed bed and breakfast in Barnesville, Georgia, centrally located between Atlanta and Macon. It is owned and operated by Terry Lynn and Fred Crane. Mr. Crane is best known for his portrayal of Brent Tarleton, a suitor of Scarlett O'Hara, who had the opening lines in the classic movie Gone With the Wind.
Tarleton Oaks Stately Tarleton Oaks, the fictional plantation home of Brent and Stuart Tarleton, is a unique bed and breakfast inn and should be consided a "must stay" for any fan of Gone With The Wind. Built in 1849 (local signage says 1859), it was the plantation home for cotton magnate Josiah Holmes. Sometime in the late 1850's Maryland educator Charles Lambdin purchased the estate. Lambdin founded Barnesville's first newspaper and Gordon Military Institute, now Gordon College.
